I really like this song. It's catchy, funny, and does a great job of capturing the american spirit in this day and age. I smile every time I hear it, not because of the politically charged message, but how incredibly fake non-dairy creamer is.

p.S. All pieces of work that make people reflect on the way they live their lives have a habit of angering some members of the society under question.

in addition, I think it's safe to say that at least half of the people who had negative comments have only listened to Semi-Charmed Life, Jumper, Crystal Baller and maybe Blinded, giving them a narrow perspective as it is. Fail.

Let's be realistic.
It isn't up to SJ's normal standards, but all of you who are bashing it are so short-sighted and ignorant. Us true 3EB fans are glad you don't like it, keep listening to your own music with it's own deep, insightful lyrics.. HA!
Take a look at the iTunes Top 10 songs - Boom Boom Pow by the Black Eyed Peas is followed by songs by musical geniuses such as Miley Cyrus (who, even with 40 year old professionals writing her songs, still has no depth to her lyrics), 3OH!3, and Lady Gaga (a rave fanatic whose songs are about ecstasy and being so belligerently drunk that she doesn't know where she is). Non-Dairy Creamer wasn't written in attempt to provoke profound thought, it's a REALITY CHECK. It simply points out the absurdity that is "culture" today, and does so in an absurd manner :)

I initially found the song too political, even though I appreciated the ironic tones, but as time progressed I respect Jenkins more and more for it.

PS. to whomever posted the comment 2 above mine, you are a disgrace. Even with just skimming the surface of the song one could infer that he isn't saying his own family was ruined by these guys getting married, he's saying it ruined a family, and it is a very hot topic in America. How can such ignorant people criticize anything? Go enjoy listening to a kid who calls himself Souljaboy talk about kissing "thru" the phone.

I have loved 3EB since 1997 when I was in college, and have enjoyed the music from their main 3 albums. However I am NOT impressed by Non-Dairy Creamer because the lyrics are too polarizing and honestly the subject matter is lame. I know of no other person who really likes the song either. It is certainly not a "classic" song and really is only for the die-hard drone fans who would enjoy anything that flies out of SJ's mouth. I agree he is a great lyricist but his efforts fall WAY short with this song. If anything the song was meant to create some buzz for their new album and not to top the music charts.

if the actions of two strangers 1000 miles away ruined your family, what kind of farce are you trying to pass off as a family?

If anything, the song is just a period piece. It shows a lot of the residual anger towards the former President. Will it be remembered as a classic? I doubt it. Doesn't mean that those enjoy it are stupid for doing so, just as it doesn't mean that those of us who don't like it are "dumbasses" and "homophobes."

I do enjoy watching some of you paint with such broad strokes. For example: "Republicans are homophobes." That statement suggests that every last Republican is against gay unions and implies that everyone who isn't a Republican, is for it. I'm a Republican and I don't give a damn how two consenting adults spend their time. Even more, I'm for civil unions. Sorry to ruin your painting, Anonymous @ 2/3/09.

Where's all that bipartisan spirit and unification that was supposed to surface after President Obama took office? Looks like we're still at each other's throats over petty crap. Nothing's changed.

The song is about how these days it is hard to tell if some thing is real or just a label. The gay marriage part is saying how it is a label that republicans are the ones fighting gay marriage but, there are still gay republicans. Personally I love the song. Me and my best friend practically worship these guys.

I'm willing to bet that most (not all) of you that had negative comments about this song's lyrics are right wing republicans, and you just can't handle learning that your favorite band disagrees with your small-minded beliefs...

There is absolutely NO substance to this son g whatsoever. It is a big fat piece of crap, hardly politically "CHARGED" lyrics. It is pure drivel for ma meaningless band...Semi-Charmed kind of life was catchy, this is no where near catchy!
